It's a really good song.

Very nice tiny solo at 1:04, I liked it a whole lot. Double vocals at parts were awesome, but you overused them sometimes. If I had to describe it, then this would be a mix between light mathcore and steve-vie-ish sound, both of them are my favorites. Great job.

I think that you should have made the ending much more powerful. It felt like you were giving up while you sing "I try". Kinda wrecked it for me (that's the reason it's a 9 and not a 10).

Also, a small tip - you're a Countertenor (mezzo-soprano), and you sound so much better there. Don't try to sing at a tenor voice, you hit all the notes but it sounds lifeless. At the Mezzo-Soprano, you don't hit the notes, you SING them. Just my opinion.

Kor-Rune responds:

Thank you!

I know nothing about the voice and shouldn't be singing if I don't know how. I've just started trying to learn, and I've got a lot to work to do.

Thanks for the tips!

Also, that B at the end is way outta my range, I think you're dead right when I shouldn't try to sing in that area.

Thanks again!

Awesome!

Absolutely loved it. Very tight and funky.

We've got to do a collab sometimes!

sorohanro responds:

Definitely we should.
Sorry for the totally unfashionable late answer.

It's alright.

The awful sound really killed it for me, it'll only work for an 64-bit-ish game ;P It's a little too fast and intense, even for a fight scene. It's should be more clean, clear, and uses regular phrases, cause you're all over the place. The distorted piano would work much better if you had a guitarist playing it. If you can tab it, I'm up for it.

Good luck!

P.S. - Return the favor (of reviewing)?

Centrist responds:

I don't think it's that awful. O-o And music is never too fast for a fight!

Has a very "Epic" feeling.

Good. I can see the the armies marching to the battle, with a smile across their lips and grime on their weapons, when listening to this. Good job. It delivers the idea, and it does it well. It misses that "spark" that will make it come alive, but it's really good besides that.

I think that use of a solo insrtument, or 2 solo instruments going counterpoint crazy will be awesome.

P.S. - Seeing you are so generous, return the favor again? XD

TylonFlame responds:

I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the rewiev. I'll see what can I do to fix it.

Very monotone.

Not that good.

The 4/4 clapping made it very monotone, and the single synth reapeting the note over and over again so fastly was very unbecoming to the ear.

The synth actually clipped here and there - it really was annoying. Here's a way to avoid this - before you upload the song to NewGrounds, listen to it in headphones, speakers, and your (or someone else's) car. That way you can make sure that it doesn't audably clip.

Try to use beats that are more intresting besides 4/4 (listening to shuffle, jazz and swing really gives my ideas for good drum beats, try it). Using more instruments, one for rythem (chords) and a few for solo is a great and very reliable way to create a nice sounding loop.

Good luck!

DavidRx responds:

ive been listening to shuffle n other electros =]
but this 1 was only a loop thut i came up whit... in a mater of minutes xD
so i dident rly work on it but since it sounded kinda good (my opinion) i decided to upload it :P

it clipped? havent noticed it...but thx man...ima start listening to more swing n shuffle..
thx for the review ='D
peace out DrX

Tight!

You know I am a blues rock man, but I really liked this, mate! Good job!

BigRed responds:

Thanks yo! Check out my song "Box Me a Beat", I fully invite you to hop on the track with some guitar. I don't know the chords off hand, I can PM them to ya sometime later (if I don't remind me)! My keyboard is hooked up to my computer and it's easy as hell to record now, lets do some more jamming!

Lol and sounds great!

I saw your response to my other review (in the Jazz Detective track), and came here to hear.

You're like the NewGrounds Igudisman and Joo. Do you know them? They're awesome, did something like what you did, only they combined a Mozart piece (I don't remember which one) with the 007 James Bond theme :)

Good work!

sorohanro responds:

Igudisman and Joo are geniuses, they mock things in a very unique and cultural way...
Thanx for review and flattering comparison.

I really like it!

This is sure as hell something to call home about. Good work. For such a song, six weeks aren't that long!

Keep on slappin' that bass!

Lukania responds:

Haha, thank you.
Nah, we came up with it in a jam session and half of it were the lyrics.

Thanks to Jay I'll never look at nursery rhymes the same way again xD

I'd take off my hat...

If I had one. Good job as always, mate, this time you're really risin' the bar out there. Hopefully we'll get to do anther collab sometimes, I'm working on this blues thingy that you might be interested in. I'll PM you when I have some shit recorded, stuff is kind of crazy at the moment but hopefully everything will work out and I'll be able to record and send things to you soon.

But back to the song. It's addictive. The cowbell is absolutely orgasmic. It's not catchy, it's fun to listen to. Good job!

BigRed responds:

The cowbell makes me hold my fist up and head bang with a ferocious face. Its so good, haha.

Amazing.

I hear this and I can see Woody Ellen :p

Good work as always man, keep it up!

sorohanro responds:

Thanx for review.
You should check also my "Pink Panther vs Fur Elise" track ;)
